PROFILE

Mark Kellner is the Managing Director of Mark Kellner Translation Services, LLC, and the company’s Senior Consultant. He is a Japanese translator who specializes in discovery and translation projects resulting from ANDA litigation concerning blockbuster drugs.

Since 2001, Mark has translated and proofread patents, technical articles, and legal documents relating to pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and mechanical engineering for law firms on The American Lawyer’s A-List, Japanese pharmaceutical firms and industry associations, and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

In 1994, he was selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to teach English in the public secondary schools of Osaka Prefecture on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme. He remained in Japan until 2001, teaching at private academies and serving at a Japanese PR firm in Tokyo.

While in Japan he passed the highest level (Level 1) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, jointly administered by the Association of International Education, Japan, and the Japan Foundation.

He received a Master of Arts degree in French Literature from The Pennsylvania State University in 1993, having completed a double major of a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Grove City College in 1991.

Passed Level 2 of the Japan Kanji Aptitude Test, administered by the Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation.

Passed level B2 of the Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) exam, administered by the International Centre for French Studies, with the rating Assez bien (cum laude).
